Leo Clubs of District 201V1-4
The Leo program is a youth initiative within the Lions organization that encourages young people to engage in community service and take action to make a positive impact. As the youngest members of the Lions, Leos are dedicated individuals who understand the value of giving back to their communities.
Leo clubs can be established in a school setting or within the local community. A designated member from the sponsoring Lions club acts as a Leo Club Advisor, and school-based Leo clubs typically have a staff member who provides additional support. By participating in the Leo program, young people can not only improve their communities, but also enrich their own personal experiences.

The prestigious Leo of the Year Award recognises Leos who have demonstrated exceptional leadership skills and personal integrity while serving the communities.
The aims of the Leo of the Year quest are to develop, encourage and provide the Leos with Leadership, experience and opportunity, which aligns with the meaning of Leos. It provides recognition of the Leos and celebrates the Leo’s passion and contribution to their club and to community service. It is also finding an ambassador and providing a platform to voice their opinions on topics that are close to their heart.
In order for the Leo to participate, they must provide, as part of their entry, a detailed Entry Form for consideration by the judges. The entry form will include filling in the positions they have held at their Leo Club, written explanation of your leadership abilities as a Leo, list of examples on their contribution to the Leo club, service activities of their Leo club in the past 2 years, what the applicants believe to be their major achievement in Leos and what they have benefited from the Leo Club program as well as their achievements and activities outside of the Leo Club.
They will also be required to provide, in their own words, a brief outline of the formation and purpose of Lions and Leo Clubs as well as their impact on the local community and around the world.
Lastly, the applicants are also required to prepare a 5-minute speech on a topic of their own choice that will be presented to an audience of Lions and guests for judging.
Contestants will be judged on their Entry Form, Interview and Public Speaking.
